KI TREND OF 2018/ HEISEI 30, TSUCHINOE INU-DOSHI/ KYUSHI KASEI CHUGU

In Japan from ancient times people have been very time conscious things in Nature occur in their own time awareness of time encourages gratefulness which is basic for a happy fulfilled life. In Japan, 3 types of astrology have been observed: TEN-CHI-JIN teaching of Heaven, teaching of Earth and teaching of Man.
Teaching of Heaven is JIKKAN 10 celestial stems, the inner and outer aspects (yin and yang) of the 5 elements.
Teaching of Earth is JU-NI-SHI the 12 Animals/directions (this is the most popular and well known) The Eto is the Yearly symbol/animal and invite good fortune for that year.
Teaching of Man is the KYUSEI the 9-Star KI. A system following a grid called the magic square.

TSUCHINOE

The 5th of the 10 Celestial Stems is Tsuchino or the Elder aspect of Earth. As a mother’s womb is the foundation of life. It is also the foundation on which all things grow. Tsuchinoe is represented by all things vigorously flourishing. However, when trees are overgrown, air will not circulate well and the sun will not touch all leaves. The result will be stagnation and insect infestation — detrimental to the health of the tree itself. The solution in each a case is decisive pruning. This is the feeling of Tsuchinoe. For clarity and health pruning is sometimes best. Tsuchinoe also suggests the period of time in which grown trees and flowers achieve fertilisation to bear fruit through birds and insects.

CHI/ teaching of Earth= Junishi (12 animal/direction)

INU DOSHI (Year of the Dog)
The Dog (Inu) signifies loyalty and protection — the 11th of the 12 Eto, the direction is North-north-west….. Inu also suggests late Autumn and the advance of the KI of Yin a time following harvest when many things will wither and perish….however life remains in the roots.

Leaves that had turned colours fall onto the ground and they would disappear into the earth and serve as fertiliser. Fruits that have fallen onto the ground pass the winter as seeds. The outside shell hardens to protect the inside from the harsh winter conditions. This is the image that represents the Dog.
INU means clearing of all stagnation and ultimately protecting life processes.

JIN/ teaching of Man= Kyusei Kigagu ( 9 Star KI)

KYUSHI KASEI/ Nine Purple Fire Star KI

The innate direction of Kyushi Kasei is the 30-degree area in the south on the Compass. The Sun is directly overhead, the season is Full Summer, which is called the month of the Horse. If compared with the day, it would be between eleven o’clock in the morning and one o’clock in the afternoon. The shapes would be Ki or the world of Heaven (tenkai).

The colour is purple and the flavour is bitter.
The symbolic meaning of the KI of Kyushi Kasei is illumination ——suggesting the time to clearly distinguish all things, Kyushi Kasei further suggests the time to identify and remove negative influence and progress in a bright and positive manner. Seeing things as they are we can decisively choose the outcome. Kyushi Kasei refers to the state that the sunlight just above us makes everything on the earth brighter and clear.

Among the numbers one to ten, one to nine represents the earth, or genkai (this current world). Number ten refers to tenkai (the world of Heaven) and also shinkai (the world of kami or divine world), so Nine Purple Fire Star is the highest ranked star among genkai (this world). This star receives the protection of ancestors, kami and Buddha and their toku (virtue or benevolence).

The Ki of Yang or positive Ki starts from Ne (the Rat), rises to Ushi (the Ox), Tora (the Tiger), U (the Rabbit), Tatsu (the Dragon) and Mi (the Snake), and reaches to Uma (the Horse) at the top. And then, it moves toward Yin, thus Uma (the Horse) is a border of Yin and Yang, which is where Yin and Yang intersect.

Kyushi Kasei implies “magnificence” and gorgeousness.

If it were expressed as a day, it would be the two hours just before and after noon, and in terms of a year, it would be June when the sun is shining the most. As the saying goes, “The sun and the moon shine in Heaven (Ten) and a multitude of crops shine on Earth (Chi),” it means that the sun is right up in the south and Heaven and Earth (Ten Chi) are bright and magnificent. From this meaning, Nine Purple Fire Star symbolizes the state that is most beautiful, lovely and gorgeous.

Kyushi Kasei denotes “clarity and illumination .”

Kyushi Kasei implies “nobility”. The south is a position for a person who excels and as Kyushi Kasei is due South in the Innate Normal Position,it is the highest rank among the Eight Directions. It is the south in the Acquired Normal Position and represents Ten (Heaven). The colour would be purple, which suggests something noble. It is excellent and noble ad suggests fame.

Kyushi Kasei is “knowledge, intelligence and studies.”

When we look from the aspect of a human body in the Acquired Normal Position, Kyushi Kasei is the head and refers to its functions. In addition, a place where knowledge is handled or controlled, knowledge itself and a person who has gained some knowledge also belong to Nine Purple Fire Star. Furthermore, above the neck, that is, a head and face symbolize Nine Purple; and the eyes and the heart also embody Nine Purple.

The first condition of success is to express appreciation (kansha) for the virtue or benevolence (toku) of Kami(s), Buddha(s) and ancestors.

Please practice Misogi, even in the shower or by washing your hands and face and and then praying before Kamidana or Ofuda:
