Reiwa 5 nen, 2023 will be MIZUNOTO (younger water aspect) USAGI DOSHI (year of Rabbit) SHIROKU MOKUSEI CHUGU (#4 dark green tree KI)
Mizunoto
Mizunoto is the 10th sign of the Jikkan/ 10 celestial stems. Mizunoto suggests the season of deep winter, trees having lost their leaves and the grass withered, consequently there is little to obstruct our view of the whole field which is flooded with low angle sunshine. This scenery reveals all waterways in all directions. This clarity allows us to correctly gage our situation. This is the image that represents Mizunoto, which signifies clarity of perspective, and the ability to clearly perceive natural laws and logic.
Mizunoto is also associated with making a plan and suggests the way all things develop in accordance with the movements of the seasons or the way trees and grass buried underneath the earth breakthrough in accordance with the law of Dai Shizen (Great Nature). During this period, Ki is generated and the Ki of Yang (positive Ki). Mizunoto is therefore the beginning of signs in which seeds hidden inside create new life while absorbing water and warmth from the earth.
U DOSHI (The year of the Rabbit)
The Rabbit is located due East on the compass, suggesting early morning and the pristine KI of Spring Season. Usagi- (U) is bō (to cover over). The vigor of expansive growth of early spring as ground covering plants rush to grow and receive sunshine before deciduous canopy appears .....All things are covering the earth are emerging. The Ki of Yang or positive Ki is making progress and all things are created and emerging with vitality on earth. It is a period in which vital new buds are growing and appearing above ground and the earth is covered with fresh new green color. However, the Rabbit is also associated with thatch and briers; we therefore need to remember that co-operation is the key to any meaningful progress. The Rabbit also suggests the importance of ridding ourselves of excesses to continue on the correct life path.
